Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 37th overall pick at the 2014 NFL Draft, becoming the highest former Gophers draft pick since Laurence Moroney in 2006.

In his senior season at the University of Minnesota, Hageman was named to the all-Big Ten first team and a third team All-American by Athlon Sports, and he also received the team's Bronco Nagurski Award given annually to the Gophers' most valuable player.

Hageman is just the 10th former University of Minnesota player to be taken 40th or higher at the NFL Draft since 1967 and the first since Moroney went 21st in 2006.
