Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Coaches from the University of Minnesota may have been looking over their shoulders a little bit on Wednesday morning --- they were, after all, right in the heart of Bulldog Country.

The 2014 Gophers Road Trip visited the Northland on Wednesday, making stops in both Coleraine, Minn. and Hibbing, Minn.

Coaches from several sports, including men's hockey coach and Grand Rapids, Minn. native Don Lucia, joined athletics director Norwood Teague in greeting some fans and answering questions about their respective teams and players.

"To come to Hibbing --- this is where my father grew up and my grandparents," Lucia said, "so I spent a lot of time around here. It's nice to connect with everybody again."

"Putting us in a room and the fans getting a chance to ask questions and so forth," football coach Jerry Kill said, "I think it's been great for our fans and certainly great for our program."

"We spend so much time in the Twin Cities, so it's nice to get out," Teague said. "When you come here and see maroon and gold and people excited about what we're doing, it's so supportive and it's re-energizing in many ways."
