Mbakwe Dominant as Gophers Upset #1 IU

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Trevor Mbakwe scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds on Tuesday night as the Minnesota men's basketball team beat #1-ranked Indiana by a 77-73 final score, marking the seventh time this season a top-ranked team has lost a game this season.

Andre Hollins added 16 points in the winning effort for the Gophers, marking the first time since 1989 Minnesota has beaten a team ranked #1 in the national polls.

Minnesota is now (19-9) overall and (7-8) within the Big Ten, with the win helping solidify their spot as an NCAA tournament team this season.
