Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth, Minn. native Kara Goucher won't be running at this weekend's Grandma's Marathon, but she does envision running 26.2 miles at some point this fall in a big city marathon after being sidelined with an injury.
The two-time Olympian has been out most of the spring with a sacral stress fracture but has said she wants to try and qualify for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
To start with, Goucher has her eyes set on a marathon within the next few months.
"Chicago or New York marathon this fall, and I'm all in," she said. I just want it to go really well. Originally, I was hoping for a good track season and then Chicago or New York, but obviously the track season has been taken off the table. I still feel like it can still be an amazing marathon."
