London, England (Northland's NewsCenter) --- After admittedly being overwhelmed at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Duluthian Kara Goucher says she is more prepared to handle the big stage as she enters the 2012 London Summer Games.
"I'm a little older. I have a son now. Perspective is everything in life and in this sport," Goucher said. "I'm just about going in there and running Kara's best race. If it's a medal, of course that's what I want, but if it's not and I run my best race, that's all I can ask for."
Goucher will run August 5 in the women's marathon, with that event scheduled to start at 5:00 a.m. CT. It will be shown live in the Northland on KBJR6 and Range 11.
The former Duluth East Greyhound is competing in her second Olympic Games, having raced in both the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters in the 2008 Beijing Games.
