Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Grand Meadow jumped out to a 22-0 first quarter lead and never looked back on Friday morning, beating South Ridge 61-6 in the MSHSL 9-Man football state semifinals. Perry Stejskal and Bryce Benson each scored two touchdowns for the Superlarks, with Grand Meadow outgaining South Ridge 485-71 in the winning effort. Drew Janke scored the lone touchdown for South Ridge, that coming in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard pass from Kody Karppinen. Also notable for South Ridge was an appearance for Chelsea Williams on both defense and special teams late in the fourth quarter. MSHSL officials say she is one of just a handful of girls to play in the state football tournament, although she is not the first in Minnesota history.
