Grand Rapids' Kleinendorst to Coach USA

Des Moines, Iowa (NNCNOW.com) --- Grand Rapids, Minn. native and newly-named Iowa Wild head coach Kurt Kleinendorst has been named an assistant coach for next month's United States Junior Evaluation Camp, it was announced on Friday.

Kleinendorst will join head coach Don Lucia in evaluating 44 invited players, with the camp acting as the first step in picking a roster for the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships.

Named on July 22 as the first coach in Iowa Wild history, Kleinendorst has previous experience within the USA Hockey program and won a gold medal with the Under-18 team at the 2010 World Championships.

The United States Junior Evaluation Camp is set to be held Aug. 3-10 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
