(NNCNOW.com) --- The top-seeded Hermantown boys' hockey team made quick work of Duluth Denfeld in the Section 7A semifinals while No. 2 seeded Duluth Marshall edged out Virginia-MIB, and across the bridge, Superior won its playoff opener on Saturday.
The Hunters tied it up in the second period thanks to a goal from Steven Maciver before the Hawks reeled off five straight goals. Wes Cook finished with 46 saves in net for Duluth Denfeld.
With the win, Hermantown will face off against Duluth Marshall in Wednesday's Section 7A title game. The Hilltoppers got the game-winning goal from Lane Krenzen midway through the second period to move past the Blue Devils 2-1.
In Section 5A, the Rails were tied with Providence Academy until the third when they scored two goals to win 3-1. Christian Ripley had two goals for Proctor who advances to the semis.
In Wisconsin, Tyler Nystrom scored twice to lead the Spartans past Menomonie 4-3. Superior will play next week in the section semifinals.
