Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Nearly 100 teams gathered in Duluth at the Stebner and Jean Duluth soccer complexes to play in the Essentia Health Head of the Lakes Youth soccer tournament over the course of the weekend.

The tournament features kids ranging from U-9's through U-15 and 16's. Championship games from each division will be held on Sunday.

Gitchi Gummi soccer club vice president Dave Robinson said the three-day tournament gives his kids a chance to see how they measure up to teams from around the state.

"We have a lot of local teams playing from other local clubs, but the nice thing is to get a variety of out--of-town teams from the cities and from Wisconsin," Robinson said.

"Some of these teams we never see in league play so we get a chance to see how we're doing in the big picture."
