Hermantown's LeBlanc Named SCSU Captain

St. Cloud, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Hermantown native Drew LeBlanc was named on Friday a captain of the St. Cloud State men's hockey team for the 2012-13 season, that according to the school's athletic website.

LeBlanc will be a senior this year for the Huskies, that after being granted a medical redshirt following his missing most of the 2011-12 season with a broken leg.

The former Hermantown standout enters the year with 97 career points, just three shy of hitting the century mark. He has 29 goals and 68 assists thus far in his collegiate career.

LeBlanc was one of several players with local connections this past summer to participate in the development camp of the Minnesota Wild, but he made the choice to return to school for his senior season.

St. Cloud State has only one regular season series with the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) this year, that coming October 23-24 at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
