Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A weekend of hockey including four United States Hockey League (USHL) teams and both the Duluth police and fire departments will benefit the Northern Lights Foundation, it was officially announced on Thursday.

The weekend will feature four exhibition games between the USHL teams, a "Guns and Hoses" game between the police and fire departments, and involvement from several Northland youth organizations.

Highlighting the weekend will be Duluth native Trevor Olson and Hermantown natives Jared Thomas and Jared Kolquist, all of whom will play with their respective USHL teams in the exhibition format.

Also involved will be former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) assistant coach Brett Larson, who is now the head coach of Sioux City in the USHL.

"A lot of people are into hockey in the area," Dr. Ken Larson of the Northern Lights Foundation said, "so it's great to see the Hermantown players and Duluth East's Trevor Olson involved. It's a good sport, and there's a lot of people involved."

The weekend will kick off at 3:00 p.m. on September 14 at the Heritage Sports Center in Duluth, with the championship game set for September 15 at 3:00 p.m.
