June 16, 2013 Updated Jun 16, 2013 at 3:15 PM CST

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Torii Hunter made his old team pay on Sunday afternoon knocking in three runs including a career home run as the Tigers beat the Twins 5-2 to take the series.

Hunter hit his 300th career home run and added a ground rule double to lead Detroit. Austin Jackson also had a two-run homer for the Tigers.

Doug Fister was hitless into the sixth inning until Brian Dozier hit a solo home run. He allowed just two runs and two hits, all thanks to Dozier.

Fister struck out seven for his first win in his last six starts. Minnesota hurler P.J. Walters gave up four runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Minnesota (30-36) resumes action on Monday when they host the Chicago White Sox at 7:10 p.m.
