Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth Huskies officially opened the 2013 season on Monday with the team's first workout at Wade Stadium, but several of the team members had not yet arrived in town.

The team practiced with 12 players on Monday afternoon, but manager Daniel Hersey said another eight to 10 guys were expected to report to the club in the coming days.

This marks Duluth's 11th year of existence as a member team of the Northwoods League, with the franchise's last playoff trip coming in 2006.

"That's always the goal," Hersey said of reaching the postseason. "We want to get out of the gate early, make the playoffs, and then who knows what will happen there."

Duluth opens its 2013 schedule on May 29 on the road against Alexandria and then has its home opener on June 1 against Mankato.
