Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD junior infielder Marcus Riewer went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in the winning run as the Duluth Huskies extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 win over Alexandria on Thursday night.

Riewer was one of seven Huskies with multiple hits in the game, plenty of offense for Duluth starting pitcher Joey Novak.

Novak earned his third win of the season, going six strong innings while allowing only one run on five hits. Jason Whalen closed the game out for Duluth, picking up his league-leading sixth save of the season.

With the two-hit performance, Riewer lifts his season average to .224 with four runs batted in. He has been a regular at second base for the Huskies this season as they have amassed a record of (14-11) through the season's first 25 games.
