Illikainen Nets 1,000th Point in Rapids Win

Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Grand Rapids sophomore Alex Illikainen scored his 1,000th career point on Friday night as the Thunderhawks boys' basketball team earned a 65-32 win over Hibbing.

The career scoring milestone came late in the first half for Illikainen, making him the only Grand Rapids sophomore to ever reach the 1,000-point plateau.

The Thunderhawks improve to (5-2) with the win, and the Bluejackets are now (3-4) this season after the loss.
