(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UW-Superior women's hockey team is expected to do well in its final season as a member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), as the Yellowjackets were picked to finish second in the league as part of the preseason coaches' poll.

UW-Superior received three first-place votes in the polling, the most of any team other than the six received by this year's preseason favorite UW-River Falls.

St. Scholastica, meanwhile, also received a first-place vote and is expected to finish fourth in the NCHA this season.

The Yellowjackets finished second in the 2011-12 season, posting a (17-8-3) overall record, and the Saints finished fifth with an overall mark of (13-9-5).
