Krause, Basaraba Named 2013-14 UMD Captains

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Hermantown, Minn. native Adam Krause and Fort Frances, Ontario native Joe Basaraba have been named co-captains of the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team for the 2013-14 season, the school announced via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

Krause will be a junior next season for the Bulldogs, that after a sophomore year that saw him total two goals and two assists while skating in a career-high 38 games.

Basaraba, meanwhile, will be one of just four seniors on the team in 2013-14 and back after scoring a career-high 10 goals and adding seven assists for UMD in his junior campaign.

The Bulldogs will open play in the program's 70th season on Oct. 11 at home against Michiagn Tech and then will open play in the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) on Oct. 18 on the road against Colorado College.
