Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Park Center senior guard Quinton Hooker has been named the recipient of the 2013 Minnesota Mr. Basketball Award, beating out Lakeview Christian Academy senior Anders Broman and three other finalists for the statewide honor.

Hooker helped lead Park Center this year to a runner-up finish in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AAAA tournament, with the Pirates falling to Apple Valley in the championship game.

Broman, meanwhile, led his Lakeview Christian Academy team to the MSHSL Class A tournament, but he and Lions lost in the quarterfinal round for a second straight season.

The 6-foot-2 senior led the state in averaging 42.0 points per game this season and will leave high school with 5,119 career points, the most-ever in Minnesota prep basketball.

Broman has committed to play his collegiate basketball at the Division I level for South Dakota State University (SDSU), a team that has qualified the past two years for the NCAA Division I tournament.
