St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth East senior forward Ryan Lundgren was named on Saturday the 2013 recipient of the Class AA Herb Brooks Award, given out each year to a player in the state tournament who best exemplifies the values exhibited by the late coach.
Lundgren finished with the tournament with three assists, helping his Greyhounds team to a (2-1) record and the Class AA third place trophy.
Characteristics needed to be a Herb Brooks Award winner are passion, commitment, courage, and leadership. Lundgren becomes the first-ever player from Duluth East to win the award, which is now in its 10th year of existence.
