Lynx Advance to Third Straight WNBA Title

Phoenix, AZ (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Lynx earned a 72-65 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, completing a best-of-three series sweep and advancing the franchise's third straight WNBA Championship Series with the victory.

Maya Moore paced Minnesota wild 27 points in the winning effort, with Seimone Augustus adding 22 points and Lindsay Whalen chipping in with seven assists for the Lynx.

The team will now face Atlanta in a best-of-five series for the championship, with Minnesota having won this same matchup in three games to win the 2011 title.

The first game of the championship series will be played Oct. 6 at the Target Center, with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
