Mets Capitalize on Brewers' Errors in Rubber Match

Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- A pair of throwing errors by Milwaukee third baseman Juan Francisco turned into two unearned runs as the Mets scooted by the Brewers 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park.

Jeremy Hefner pitched a gem for New York, matching a career-high with eight strikeouts and gave up just one run in seven innings.

Brewers reliefer Tom Gorzelanny made a spot start for Milwaukee, pitching six innings while giving up two runs on eight hits.

Francisco's throwing error in the fourth allowed a run to score and once again in the sixth inning.

Jonathan Lucroy had a solo home run for the Brewers.

Milwaukee (35-52) resumes action on Monday when they host the Reds at 7:10 p.m.
