Proctor, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- NHRA Pro Stock star drivers and Minnesota natives Greg Anderson and Jason Line will be in Proctor Wednesday evening to help raise money for ALS research.
Anderson is the defending NHRA Pro Stock champion and Line won the title in 2006, and both will be racing this weekend at the Brainerd International Raceway.
Those two, along with the Summit Racing Pro Stock Pontiacs, will be at the Powerhouse Bar and Grill in Proctor from 5-8 p.m., signing autographs and selling raffle tickets for a Polaris snowmobile and a Polaris Ranger UTV.
“I got my feet wet last year appearing in Proctor, and had an absolute blast,” said Anderson, a Duluth native. “I was also very impressed with the crowd that came out and the funds we raised. I had no idea that we could do so much good for a great cause in that fashion, so this year we’re getting more involved, bringing Jason along with me as well as both our Summit Racing Pontiacs. We’re going to do things bigger and better, seeing if we can raise even more money."
“I lost a good friend of mine from McGregor, Donnie Sather, to ALS in 2009, and I carry his coin inside my Summit Racing Pontiac every week,” said Line, a Wright native. “It’s a horrible disease, and whatever time you have to take to support the work they are doing to find a cure is certainly well worth it. It’s a good cause and I’m looking forward to going back to my home state and being a part of it.”
