St. Joseph, MO (NNCNOW.com) --- A thrilling game came down to a tripped quarterback in the third overtime as Missouri Western State beat the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) 57-55 in three overtimes in a first round game of the NCAA Division II football tournament. Senior Chase Vogler tripped and fell as UMD was going for a two-point conversion in the third overtime, marking the end of the 2012 season for the Bulldogs. Even with the ending, Vogler put together a fantastic effort in his final game for UMD. He finished with 379 all-purpose yards in the losing effort, a career single-game high for the senior. Austin Sikorksi also had a stellar game for the Bulldogs, finishing with 139 yards on 26 carries. He also scored five touchdowns in the contest, three of them coming in the overtime period. UMD says goodbye to 11 seniors this season, with that group playing a part in a (62-7) overall record, four straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) titles, and two NCAA Division II championships.
