Moose Lake, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Meet Jessica and Jamie, both freshmen on the Moose Lake Area girls' varsity hockey team.
"We've got a lot of talented girls," said head coach Joe Mohelsky. "Those two are leaders. They're very talented. The future looks bright for Moose Lake."
A lot of that has to do with Jessica and Jamie. As a forward, Jessica leads the team in points while Jamie, a defenseman, ranks fourth.
"I want to set my standards high and go far," said Jamie.
But there's something about these two girls that you won't find on the stat sheet – we like to call it "twin power."
"I know where she's going to be and she knows where I'm going to be. We have that twin–telepathy," said Jamie.
"It's just fun because like she said, if I pass the puck somewhere and I don't have my head up, she's right there," said Jessica.
With that kind of on–ice chemistry, Mohelsky tries to get them together as much as possible.
It leads to good things for the Rebels, even if you can't tell at first which girl it is making the play.
"There's just that unspoken thing that goes on out there. They know where each other's at and where each other's going. It's a lot of fun to watch."
It's been a lot of fun for the girls, too. They've been playing hockey since they were 3 years old, both with and against one another.
Now, at 15, they've decided being together is better.
"We have been on separate teams," said Jamie. "It's different because I know my sister and she knows me."
"They're inseparable. Where one is, the other one is. It's like that out on the ice too. In between drills, they're always together."
