Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- New University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) head football coach Curt Wiese said he hopes to keep the rest of the coaching staff in tact heading into the 2013 season. "We're going to do our best to keep the staff underneath us that we've had the past five seasons," Wiese said. "In time of change, sometimes you can expect more. I'm hoping that doesn't happen at UMD." Wiese was named last Friday the successor of Bob Nielson, who resigned his duties as head football coach and athletic director to take the head football coaching job at Western Illinois. Wiese has been the offensive coordinator for UMD the past five seasons, leading the unit to finish among the nation's top 10 in four of those years. He's also played a part in two NCAA Division II championships and four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) titles during his time with the Bulldogs.
