Columbus, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team fell behind three goals and cut the deficit to one before Ohio State pulled away 4-2 at the Value City Arena on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs dug themselves an early hole but answered with goals from freshman winger Alex Iafallo and junior center Caleb Herbert in the second period.

UMD outshot Ohio State 41-29 and held them scoreless on six power play chances. Senior goaltender Alex Crandall finished with 35 saves for the Bulldogs.

UMD (4-3-1) returns to the ice on Nov. 16-17 for a collision with NCHC opponent North Dakota.
