Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Over 17,000 runners will take part in Grandma's Marathon weekend, and over 1,000 of them are either current or former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) students.

It's the biggest representation for the Bulldogs after having between 800 and 900 runners the past few years.

UMD Alumni Director Lisa Pratt is looking forward to cheering on her fellow Bulldogs on Saturday at the Bulldog Grandma's Marathon Fanstand.

"When we see a Bulldog, we're going to cheer out hearts out," Pratt said. "What's so great about it is that UMD's a big part of community. Obviously, Grandma's is a big part of the lives of our alumni."

"We really like to support things that our alumni do and be good community partners and have a good time with the whole event."

The Bulldogs Fantstand will be held at the Pizza Luce patio this year from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
