Green Bay, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Thousands and thousands of fans wait every year to see if they can land season tickets to the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field.
Now, at least a few more fans will be able to watch the games every week.
The Packers announced Thursday the organization is adding 6,600 new seats to Lambeau Field, a venture that will be privately financed through the team.
The expansion will cost $143 million and will also include a new sound system and video board for the historic NFL stadium.
Work will be done during the off-seasons in 2012 and 2013, with the expansion expected to be complete before the start of the 2013 season.
Green Bay will host the Indianpolis Colts Friday night at Lambeau, a game that can be seen in the Northland on KDLH3.
