Green Bay, WI (NNCNOWl.com) --- The Green Bay Packers have released eight-time Pro Bowl defensive back Charles Woodson, it was officially announced on Friday afternoon.
Woodson had been in Green Bay since 2006, starting all 100 games he played in during his seven seasons with the Packers.
The 36-year-old defensive back holds franchise records for most defensive touchdowns (11) and the most interception returns for scores (nine).
Woodson was an integral part of Green Bay's Super Bowl XLV victory following the 2010 season, but played in just seven games during the 2012 campaign while dealing with a broken collarbone.
He signed a five-year deal with Green Bay before the 2010 season and was set to make $9 million in 2013.
