Proctor, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- It's been a rough start for tracks around the Northland with the late snowfall and recent rainfall delaying their openings. Racers finally had their chance to start their engines on the 2013 season at the Proctor Speedway Sunday night.
Over 98 cars in all took part in the racing action at the first local track to open up, and it was a packed house.
In the late model feature, Brady Smith of Solon Springs took the checkered flag. John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wisc. took second and Zach Wohlers of Hibbing finished in third.
In the modified feature, Ryan Aho of Chisholm was the fastest car with Jeff Broking of Grand Rapids in the two spot and Dan Ebert of Lake Short coming in third place.
