Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Proud feelings filled the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football offices on Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours after former Bulldogs offensive lineman Jake Bscherer agreed to sign a contract with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks.
Actually, the popular sentiment was surprise that he wasn't offered a contract sooner.
"He has a lot of the things the NFL looks for --- size, speed, agility," UMD offensive line coach Peter Lue said. "He's got athletic ability. He's a real smart player. Now it's just a matter of getting in and showing them what he can do."
Bscherer will report to Seattle on Monday and must pass a physical before signing the contract. He plans on joining the team on Tuesday for offseason workouts.
