Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Vikings have reached an agreement with quarterback Matt Cassel, according to a report from CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora, with the deal coming just hours after Cassel was released by the Kansas City Chiefs. Cassel spent the past four seasons with the Chiefs, completing 161-of-277 passes this past season for 1,796 yards and six touchdowns in just nine games played. There are mixed reports on whether Cassel will have a chance to compete with incumbent Christian Ponder for the starting job, but the Vikings have remained steadfast all offseason that Ponder will be the starter in 2013.
