Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Proctor football team held Pierz scoreless until late in the fourth quarter and used touchdowns from Joe Carter and Brodie Nordquist to beat the Pioneers 19-6 at Malosky Stadium on Friday night.

Carter got the Rails on the board in the first quarter 7-0 after an interception by Logan Ecklund put Proctor in good field position.

That was the same score until the fourth quarter when Nordquist got free and added a touchdown from 29 yards out. Calen Porter sealed the deal after he returned an interception for a TD on the ensuing possession.

Proctor advances to its first ever Class AAA state semifinal. The Rails will face off against St. Croix Lutheran High School on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metrodome.
