Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Twins and Red Sox had to wait three hours to finish their game on Sunday night thanks to heavy rainfall but Boston's lead stayed intact, 5-1, as they swept the three-game series over Minnesota.
John Lackey allowed just one hit over six innings for the Red Sox before the delay started. Both Dustin Pedroia and Will Middlebrooks homered for Boston in their fifth-straight win.
Pedro Hernandez lasted 4 1/3 innings for Minnesota scattering nine hits and giving up three runs. Trevor Plouffe scored the lone run for the Twins.
Minnesota (18-22) travels to Atlanta on Monday to take on the Braves at 6:10 p.m.
