Rodgers Throws 6 TDs, Packers Rout Texans
Houston, TX (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Aaron Rodgers responded to critics in the best way on Sunday night, tossing six touchdown passes to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 42-24 win over the previously unbeaten Houston Texans.
Rodgers finished 24-of-37 passing, going for 338 yards and the six scores while throwing no interceptions in the winning effort for Green Bay.
Three of the touchdowns went to Jordy Nelson, who finished as the Packers' leading receiver with nine catches for 121 yards. James Jones caught two of the other scores, and Tom Crabtree had the other for Green Bay.
Alex Green was the featured running back for Green Bay, filling in for an injured Cedric Benson, and finished with 22 carries for 65 yards.
The Packers defense survived several injuries both prior to and during Sunday night's game, most notably limiting Houston running back Arian Foster to just 29 yards on 17 carries.
Green Bay also created three turnovers in the game, with Casey Hawyard picking off two Matt Schaub passes and Sam Shield getting the other.
The Packers are now (3-3) this season and will next be in action October 21 on the road against St. Louis, with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m.
