Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Kansas City Royals continued their hot streak and capitalized on an error by Minnesota to score the go-ahead run en route to winning their eighth straight game 4-3 on Wednesday night.

The win puts the Royals above .500 at the end of July for the first time since 2003. Kansas City is 9-3 against Minnesota this season.

Pedro Florimon had a solo home run for the Twins, but his error in the seventh cost Minnesota a run. Chris Hermann and Trevor Plouffe also knocked in a run for the Twins.

Kevin Correia scattered ten hits over six innings but gave up just two runs while striking out three.

Minnesota (45-59) and Kansas City (53-51) will meet on Thursday for the series finale at 12:10 p.m.
