Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Wisconsin Wilderness of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) will be moving its organization to Cloquet beginning in the 2012-13 season, team officials announced on Wednesday.

The team has been based in Spooner, Wis. the past two seasons as a member of the SIJHL, both years winning that league's championship.

Before joining the SIJHL in 2010, the Wisconsin organization played in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MJHL) under two different team names.

The team's name will be changed to the Minnesota Wilderness in association with the move, with the official announcement coming at a news conference on Thursday afternoon.

The Wilderness will now be the third Northland-based team in the SIJHL, joining the Duluth Clydesdales and the Iron Range Ironheads.

The team is coached by former UMD Bulldogs defenseman Rod Aldoff, who totaled 20 goals and 62 assists during his four seasons with the program.
