Saints Earn #6 Seed, Draw Tommies at NCAAs

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica baseball team learned Monday it will make its fourth straight appearance in Whitewater, Wis. for the NCAA Division III regional tournament, that as the official 56-team bracket was announced.

The sixth-seeded Saints will play top-seeded St. Thomas in the first game of the regional tournament, with that contest scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on May 15 at Prucha Field.

The Saints' regional contains six teams and is a double-elimination format, with the winner advancing to the NCAA tournament in Appleton, Wis.

St. Scholastica enters the tournament with an overall record of (27-9) and fresh off a 16th consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason championship, for which the Saints earned an automatic bid to the regional.

The Saints split with the Tommies during the regular season, winning the front end of a doubleheader before dropping the second game. Both contests were played at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis.
