Northfield, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior runner Chelsea Johnson has qualfiied for the NCAA Division III cross country championships, that after she finished third overall at Saturday's Central Region meet.
Johnson finished in a program-record time of 21:43, helping the St. Scholastica women to a 10th place finish in the team event.
She is the first Saints runner to qualify for the national championships since Katelyn Meger did so in 2009, and she also earns all-region accolades for her third place finish.
The NCAA Division III championships will be held in Terre Haute, Ind. on November 17, with Johnson set to compete at 11:00 a.m.
