Morris, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica football team won the game it had to on Saturday afternoon and then needed a little luck to be crowned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) champions for a second consecutive season. The Saints first beat Minnesota-Morris 28-21 to finish the regular season with an (8-2) overall record, and then the team saw its name drawn out of a box to settle a three-way tie for first in the conference. St. Scholastica, Greenville, and Northwestern were the three teams tied for the top UMAC spot, and conference commissioner Corey Borchardt drew St. Scholastica's name shortly after 5:30 p.m. St. Scholastica now earns the right to play in the NCAA Division III tournament, but the official draw for that will not happen until the night of November 11.
