Detroit, MI (NNCNOW.com) --- Anibal Sanchez threw a one-hitter and Don Kelly hit a two-run homer as Detroit handed Minnesota its tenth straight loss 6-0 on Friday night.

Sanchez was two outs shy of a no-hitter until Joe Mauer singled in the top of the ninth to break-up the no-no. Sanchez finished with nine strikeouts and the complete game shutout.

Miguel Cabrera knocked in a run for the Tigers and Omar Infante added three RBIs.

Samuel Deduno, in his first major league start this season, lasted just 5 1/3 innings for Minnesota, giving up nine hits and six earned runs.

The Twins (18-27) and Tigers (27-19) meet again on Saturday at 3:08 p.m. in game three of a four-game set.
