Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Al 'The Haitian Temptation' Sands has owned the Minnesota state cruiserweight title for more than a year now, and on Friday night he will defend that belt for the first time at Grandma's Sports Garden in Duluth, Minn.
Sands will be fighting Harvey Kilfian in a 10-round bout with the state title on the line, and the Floodwood, Minn. native says it's a fight he has no intentions of losing.
"It's very important to me to keep the state title here in Duluth, Minnesota. We've worked really hard for this camp. It's my first rematch as well. It's just a great fight against a great opponent, and I look forward to bringing that title back here."
Sands is (13-1) in his professional career with 12 of those victories coming by way of knockout. The Friday night card is set to start at 7:00 p.m. at Grandma's Sports Garden, with Sands' fight expected to start sometime around 9:45 p.m.
