Schmitz Kicks Warriors Past Rebels, to State Title

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Levi Schmitz kicked a 24-yard game-winning field goal as time expired on Friday afternoon, leading Caledonia to a 25-22 win over Moose Lake-Willow River in the MSHSL Class AA football championship.

Jake Disterhaupt scored two touchdowns for the Rebels in the game, which marks the team's second straight loss to Caledonia in the state championship game.

Isaac Coil had the other touchdown for Moose Lake-Willow River in the loss, that coming on an 84-yard pass from Tony Adamczak in the third quarter.

Moose Lake-Willow River ends the year with a (13-1) overall record and as MSHSL Class AA runners-up for a second consecutive season.
