Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth East's Sophie Schuder and Ely's Jesse Olson took the individual titles Friday afternoon at the Duluth East Nordic Ski Invitational, which featured skiers from 13 area high schools at Snowflake Ski Center.
The race was a combination of a 5-kilometer freestyle pursuit followed by a 5-kilometer classical pursuit, with each portion counting toward an individual's total time.
Schuder finished the course in a total time of 33:47 to win the girls race, and Olson came across the line in 29:27 to earn the boys title.
The Ely boys edged out Duluth East for the overall team victory, while it was the other way around on the girls side with the Greyhounds just beating out the Wolves.
