Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota State-Mankato women's hockey team scored two second period goals on Saturday afternoon, and that held up in a 2-1 win over the #10-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) at AMSOIL Arena. Jenna McParland scored a goal in the third period for UMD, but it wasn't enough to bring the Bulldogs a win in the important Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) contest. Kayla Black made 23 saves for the Bulldogs in the losing effort, extending the team's current losing streak to three games. The team's will play game two of the weekend series Sunday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena, but the start time has been moved up two hours to 1:07 p.m. due to weather concerns.
