Thunderhawks Advance to 7AAA Title Game

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Kenzie Kane scored a game-high 33 points on Friday night to lead the Grand Rapids girls' basketball team to 67-61 win over North Branch in the Section 7AAA semifinals at Duluth Denfeld High School.

The win puts the Thunderhawks into the Section 7AAA championship with a chance to earn the program's fifth overall trip to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) tournament and first since 2011.

In that title contest, Grand Rapids will meet top-seeded Chisago Lakes after the Wildcats beat Hibbing 61-45 in their semifinal contest on Friday.

The Section 7AAA championship game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on March 7 at Duluth Denfeld High School in Duluth, Minn.
