Trio of Bulldogs Earn Academic Distinction

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's basketball forward Katrina Newman, soccer forward Dani Potter, and runner Randi Timerman were named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Myles Brand All-Academic on Wednesday.

The honor is given to senior NSIC student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher and are on track to graduate. A total of 96 student-athletes from the NSIC's 16 schools and two affiliated members will receive the award.

Newman, a Barnum, Minn. native, is a Math Education major while Potter (White Bear Lake, Minn.) is majoring in Exercise Science, and Timerman (Stevens Point, Wisc.) in Biochemistry.
