Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Twins have signed relief pitcher Jared Burton to a two-year, $5.5 million extension, the team announced on Thursday evening. The deal will keep Burton with the Twins through the 2014 season and includes a $3.6 million club-option for the 2015 year. Burton appeared in 64 games last season for Minnesota, compiling five saves while working to a 2.18 earned run average. He threw 62 innings, allowing 41 hits and striking out 55 opposing batters.
