Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Twins unveiled on Tuesday afternoon the official logo for MLB's 2014 All-Star Game, moving the club one step closer to hosting the annual midsummer classic at Target Field.
Information on the official Minnesota Twins web site says the logo is designed to focus on Target Field's presence in downtown Minneapolis, represented by a blue silhouette against the city's tan skyline.
"Major League Baseball joins the Twins franchise in anticipating a first-class week of events for the fans of Minnesota and their communities as a part of the 85th All-Star Game," MLB Commissioner Bud Selig said. "We look forward to delivering a memorable experience and applauding our game's very best at Target Field next July 15."
The 2014 All-Star Game is scheduled for July 15, with the game marking the return of the midsummer classic to Minnesota for the first time since 1985.
"The Twins are honored to host the 2014 All-Star Game events," Minnesota owner Carl Pohlad said. "Even before opening Target Field in 2010, we dreamed of hosting this incredible event. With this logo unveiling, we're one step closer to making this dream a reality."
