Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team had never in program history played to a scoreless tie until Sunday afternoon when the Bulldogs ended 0-0 against #7-ranked Boston University at AMSOIL Arena. The Bulldogs outshot the Terriers 38-19 in the contest, but goaltenders Kayla Black and Kerrin Sperry were unflappable throughout regulation and into a single overtime session. The two teams played to two ties in the weekend series, with Saturday afternoon's game ending with a 2-2 final score. Sunday's shutout is the third of the season for UMD freshman goaltender Kayla Black, who improved her record to (6-8-3) this season. The Bulldogs sport a (7-8-3) record as a team headed into the holiday break, and the team won't be back in action until Jan. 12-13 at home against St. Cloud State.
